aulric and arabella’s birthday

a while back we spoke to a lovely man on the phone named philip about finding a birthday present for his granddaughter, arabella. philip had some very stringent criteria: said gift needed to be sturdy enough to withstand the likely assaults it would receive from arabella’s twin brother, aulric, and it needed to be as cool as the train aulric would be getting (which made bubbles! and real awesome train noises! which philip kindly played us over the phone! we want us one!!).

needless to say, such a train posed stiff gift competition. but philip eventually settled on a fairy jewellery box which made its own music (so as not to be outdone).

and, by all accounts, the jewellery box went down a treat! philip has even kindly sent us the photographic proof. too cute! (and are those new birthday ‘jamies we spy?)

also, aulric and arabella had the most amazing birthday cake we have ever laid eyes on (kindly made for them by a friend of their family). we are saving these photos so that we can give strict instructions for our next birthday cake.
