‘the greatest gift of the garden is the restoration of the five senses.’
~ hanna rion, impressionist artist
‘everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. gardening is an instrument of grace.’
~ may sarton, belgian-born american poet, novelist and memoirist
well, we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. it’s true that there’s no peace quite like that you find in a garden. we’d quite happily spend the rest of our lives sitting under a blossoming cherry tree with a book and a ray of warm spring afternoon sunshine on our backs …
it’s also true that the most special gardens are the secret ones. they’re the ones with little nooks and crannies that only you know about, into which you can escape from the world. these gardens are the ones that find you, rather than vice versa.
dot bosher’s garden is just such a garden. and we’re so excited to be able to say that she’s decided to open it up to the public for the very first time. the secret’s out! dot’s secret garden is full of intricate detail, joy, mystery, fragrance and, most importantly, love.
dot is cathie’s sister and we truly are sharing something that is very dear to the little brown house family with you – please enjoy dot’s garden at terrace hills. you’ll be pleased you made the time and we’re sure it will become as much a special sanctuary for you as it is for us.
